Buffalo Horn

Our signature material. Hand-sliced from Asian water buffalo horn, ethically sourced and repurposed — and it only grows more beautiful the more you wear it.

Ethically sourced, never wasted

Buffalo horn is the foundational anchor of ZADEH—an organic element that grants every design its distinct, unmistakable identity. Sourced from farm-raised Asian water buffalo and repurposed as a byproduct to eliminate waste, no two pieces are ever identical. Handcrafted in our New York City atelier alongside solid gold, sterling silver, and parachute cord, each hand-sliced link begins with a deep black luster polished with natural oils. Over time, as the finish yields to daily wear, the material reveals its natural grey patina—an intentional evolution that marks the piece becoming uniquely yours.

Hand-sliced, hand-assembled

Every buffalo horn piece begins with the same sustainable, repurposed material, shaped through two distinct handcrafted techniques. For the Brant, individual horn strands are intricately sliced and molded into the continuous curve of a wrist. For the Santos, solid horn is cut into individual beads and hand-assembled piece by piece. Neither process is rushed—from raw horn to finished bracelet, a single piece takes a full week of meticulous handwork.

It changes as you wear it

A special oil is applied to darken and nourish the horn—maintaining its natural flexibility so it never becomes brittle—and give it a rich black luster. With time—exercising, swimming, showering—that oil slowly wears off, and the organic fibers recapture the original gray patina of the natural horn. To keep the material supple and prevent it from breaking, we recommend applying baby oil once a week; cared for this way, your piece will last a lifetime.

The look is unconventional, and entirely Zadeh. The more well-used the piece is, the more beautiful it becomes.
