The Hampton Classic horse show is the embodiment of history, tradition and timeless elegance. This summer will be our second year exhibiting there, and we feel honored to be a part of it.
First launched in the early 1900s, the annual show was interrupted by the First World War and then again by the Second World War.
The show as we know it today was revived in 1971 as a fundraiser for the Hampton Day School. Exhibitors were largely made up of wealthy members of high society. The athletic competition was secondary to the social aspect, though the shows became more competitive through the Sixties and Seventies.
Today, the Hampton Classic Horse Show is a Grand Prix show jumping horse show in Bridgehampton, New York. It is one of the biggest show jumping contests in the United States. The Hampton Classic also continues to be one of the largest social bashes in the Hamptons, with celebrities and socialites turning out for the event year after year.
